The town of Mondaino is located on a hill north of the Foglia river valley, a few kilometers from the border with the Marche Region. When we talk about the history of Mondaino, the Middle Ages immediately come to mind, due to the strong fortress that overlooks the town and its castle walls. But the history of this village is not only the medieval one and its origins go much further back in time, intertwining with myth and legend: legend linked to Diana, goddess of hunting, of the moonlight and of chastity, who seems to be venerated in these hills.
