World Photography Day

In an era of new discoveries and inventions such as the steam engine and hot air balloons, man begins to feel the need to immortalize those moments, not only through memory but through a tangible memory.Joseph Nicéphore Niépce, a classic high bourgeois of the late eighteenth century, began to devote himself to inventions after the Revolution of 1789.
In the 1920s, Niépce began his attempts to fix images on a silver plate, sprinkling it with Judean bitumen, to obtain a negative image.
He met Louis Daguerre and together they found the company “Niépce-Daguerre”. The silver foil technique was perfected by Daguerre.
On 7 January 1839 in Paris, the invention of the daguerreotype was registered at the Academy of Sciences. The French government immediately acquires the rights for public use, sharing the invention with the world.
