The clock of Riccione hospital - 1892
The hospital in Riccione was inaugurated in 1893, desired but above all realised by Maria Boorman, who later dedicated it to her late husband, none other than the doctor Giovanni Ceccarini, known in the Americas.
The hospital in Riccione was designed by architect Giulio Podesti, and its builder was master builder Leonardo Mazzocchi.
Turning our attention to the public clock, on the other hand, we can discover that the latter was coveted by residents and outsiders alike for the simple need of a clock that marked the hours to better organise their days.
It took the local benefactress, Mrs Boorman, to find a solution to the problem in no time at all, and in 1892 a splendid little jewel was placed at the head of the hospital building, striking the hours, quarters, etc.
It is said that the moment of the chiming was so eagerly awaited that a large flock of people would gather beneath it almost as if it were a solemn celebration.
