Steve Jobs and his pearl of wisdom
Steve Jobs: a visionary; the man who revolutionised the way we communicate, and changed the consumer electronics market, making it unrecognisable; the co-founder of Apple, following a long battle with a form of pancreatic cancer, bade us a final farewell at the age of 56 on 5 October 2011, captivating us with his wise words:
"In the eyes of others, my life is a success .
However , apart from work , I have had little joy .
At the end of the day, wealth is just a fact to which I have become accustomed.
At this moment, lying on my hospital bed, remembering my whole life, I realise that all the recognition and wealth I was so proud of, have vanished and become meaningless in the face of imminent death.
You can hire someone to drive your car or make money for you but you cannot hire someone to be sick and die for you .
Lost material things can be found .
But there is one thing that is never found when it is lost: 'Life'.
At whatever stage of life we currently find ourselves, in time we will face the day when the curtain closes.
Love your family, your spouse and your friends ... Treat them well. Take care of them.
As we grow older and wiser , we slowly realise that wearing a $300 watch or a $30 watch - both give the same amount of time ... Whether we have a $300 wallet or a $30 purse , the amount inside is the same ; Whether we drive a $150,000 car or a $30,000 car , the road and the distance are the same , and we reach the same destination .
Whether we drink a 1000 bottle of wine . The hangovers are the same ; Whether the house we live in is 300 or 3000 square metres - the loneliness is the same .
You will realise that your true inner happiness does not come from the material things of this world .
Whether you are travelling first class or economy class, if the plane crashes, you go down with it ... So... I hope you realise , when you have friends , boyfriends and old friends , brothers and sisters , with whom you discuss , laugh , talk , sing , talk about north - south - east or heaven and earth , .... this is true happiness!
An indisputable fact of life: don't raise your children to be rich. Educate them to be happy .
So when they grow up they will know the value of things and not the price"
Holy words from one of the world's bigwigs.
