SAN LEO
The ancient village is located on a huge rock that is impassable all around, behind the Republic of San Marino and the Riviera di Rimini, in Val Marecchia.
San Leo, a wonderful capital of art, mentioned by Dante Alighieri in the Divine Comedy, is the hub of the historic region of Montefeltro and is the city that gave it its name.
Known for its historical and geopolitical events, location for films and documentaries, tourist destination par excellence, it is the precious pearl guarded by the province of Rimini.
They are flanked by numerous Renaissance palaces, such as the Medici Palace, with the elegant Museum of Sacred Art, the residence of the Severini-Nardini Counts, the Della Rovere Palace, seat of the Town Hall.
In San Leo, San Leone is celebrated.
The patronal feast is in August.
