PAC-MAN
Pac-Man is one of the oldest and most famous video games in history, created by 'Namco' on 22 May 1980 in the arcade format.
Initially, the idea for this game came from Tohru Iwatani, who, while having dinner, saw a pizza missing a slice and, about a year and two months after that dinner, gave birth to the first real Pac-Man.
After the game was marketed in Japanese arcades, it was immediately a huge success, so much so that over the years it was adapted for various devices such as consoles, smartphones and PCs.
The game itself does not have any particular rules or complications; basically, the player takes command of a yellow sphere that opens and closes its mouth, which is called Pac-Man, and must make it eat all the dots neatly present in the maze drawn on the screen. Once you have eaten all the dots, you move up a level; note that the next level is an exact copy of the previous one, so where does the difficulty lie?
Standing in the way of the player are ghosts, who every time they touch Pac-Man will make him lose one of his three lives.
Once the available lives have expired, the game ends as a matter of course.
To facilitate the player's task, there are 'Power Pills' in the four corners of the labyrinth. These are special pills that the player can use in a moment of need, which after ingestion will make the enemy ghosts vulnerable, giving Pac-Man the chance to devour them.
The 'Perfect Score', i.e. the maximum number of points that can be achieved, is 3,333,360, because due to a bug in the code, it is not possible to pass level number 256.
