ONE CHERRY TAKES THE OTHER
The cherry in Greek mythology was considered sacred by Venus,
its fruits seemed to bring luck to lovers.
In Sicily they believe that all declarations of love under a cherry tree will be eternal.
The cherry tree comes from Asia Minor, it is a tree that arises spontaneously, in fact man simply had to pick the fruits and eat them.
According to Christian iconography, the cherry is the Fruit of Paradise: an antidote to the apple, the cause of Original Sin.
Its patron is San Gerardo De Tintori, remembered on 6 June.
