MONTESCUDO
Montescudo is a fraction of the Montescudo-Monte Colombo municipality in the province of Rimini.
The village is located on the hill at the foot of Mount Goido.
Montescudo is a meeting point for the major communication routes of the Conca Valley.
At its feet flow the Conca and Marano rivers.
The territory is rich in towers, fortresses and castles.
The origins of the first castle date back to the 10th century. The castle controls the territories between the Conca river and the Marano valley.
Montescudo also offers a recently rebuilt historic center and some hamlets of historical interest.
While for lovers of nature and walks in Montescudo there is the wood of albereto, 25 hectares of woodland that can be easily covered on foot.
In addition to being a medieval village, it offers many high quality typical products including wine, honey, oil, mushrooms, cheeses and potatoes.
The potato festival takes place every year. This year will be the 49th edition from Saturday 12th to Sunday 13th August.
It will be possible to taste the famous gnocchi, cod with potatoes, flatbread and special recipes such as potato ice cream.
