MONTEFIORE
Montefiore is the medieval capital of the Conca Valley.
It is one of the most fascinating villages of the Malatesta Lordship.
The Rocca is the symbol of Malatesta power over the entire Conca Valley.
This fortress offers unique views and stands on a promontory where, on clear days, it is possible to see the coast from Fano to Ravenna.
The Curina door allows you to access the completely fortified village.
The walls encircle the whole village and the streets that run along them offer a short but beautiful walk in a natural environment.
It is said that the castle was built in 1347 on the initiative of Malatesta Guastafamiglia. The castle was built to have an exclusively defensive function.
It remained under the dominion of the Malatesta until 1458, then the following year it was occupied by Federico di Montefeltro.
Every year the Rocca di Luna is celebrated where the figure of Dante Alighieri is celebrated.
The fortress and the streets of the village will be illuminated to create a special atmosphere.
