Marco Simoncelli

Marco Simoncelli, Sic or SuperSic (born in Cattolica in the province of Rimini, on January 20, 1987), was a motorcycle rider, world champion in 2008 in the 250 class.

He had started competing as a driver at the age of 7 and was proclaimed Italian champion at the age of 12.

In 2002 he won the European championship in the 125 class.



He passed away in 2011 at Sepang during the Malaysian Grand Prix.

He was inducted into the Motorcycling Hall of Fame in 2014 with the posthumous recognition of MotoGP Legend.



In memory of him, the Misano circuit bears his name "Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli".
