IL LISCIO DELL'ORCHESTRA CASADEI
The Casadei Orchestra is the most famous and long-lived dance orchestra in Italy, the most popular in the Italian dance sector and famous in the world for its musical genre called Liscio. The orchestra has become famous for having spread the music of Romagna at an Italian and international level.
Founded in 1928 by Secondo Casadei (born Aurelio Casadei), composer and author of over a thousand songs including Romagna mia, in 1960 his nephew Raoul Casadei joined it, who took over the management when his uncle died. In 2000, the helm of the Casadei Orchestra passed from Raoul to his son Mirko Casadei who called it the Beach Band, a term that is positioned between the big band and the beach, a predominant theme in many Casadei songs. Mirko names his musical genre pop-folk.
Among the most important songs of the Orchestra we mention: Romagna mia, Romagna and Sangiovese, Un bès in biciclèta, La mia gente, Io cerco la girlfriend and many others.
The Casadei Orchestra is also quoted by many young artists: Caparezza in Tutto che c'è ("I wish the Backstreet Boys were gay, that teenagers loved Casadei.") and Article 31 in Tranqi Funky “ Everything runs smoothly as with Casadei", Gabry Ponte in Sons of Pythagoras ("We are children of Pythagoras and Casadei, of Macchiavelli and Totò") and these are just to name a few.
