HISTORICAL CENTER OF RIMINI
Rimini
It preserves a cultural, historical and artistic heritage that is richer than ever!
It starts from the famous Arch of Augustus, via Flaminia and via Emilia (the two most important roads of the Roman era).
After Piazza Tre Martiri (ancient Roman forum), we find the Tiberius bridge built in 21d.c. in Istrian stone. Continue until you reach the Surgeon's House, a Roman house from the second half of the 2nd century.
The meeting point of the Rimini people is at the fountain of the pine cone, in Piazza Cavour, where the old fish market is also located (a characteristic place of the city).
Leon Battista Alberti's work is the Malatesta Temple, a monument from the Renaissance period.
The Gambalunga Library is more than 400 years old and is the first public and civic library open in the Italian territory.
Rimini has given a new life to other historic buildings such as the Amintore Galli Theater, inaugurated in 1857 by Giuseppe Verdi; the Part (Palaces of art); the Porta Galliana (ancient gateway to the marina); the Fulgor Cinema; the Grand Hotel Rimini, the Fellini Museum inaugurated in 2021, is located between Palazzo Fulgor, Rocca Malatestiana, Castel Sigismondo and the square of dreams.
