For each cocktail, its ice!
From classic cubes and crushed ice to the newest shapes such as parallelepipeds and spheres.
Ice is a fundamental element in the preparation of a cocktail. In the past it was thought that ice was a component to lengthen the drink and thus, save on alcohol.
Ice can be used in the following cases:
1. To dilute the drink (with a high alcohol content) making it lighter or
2. To cool the cocktail without watering it down
* Today ice also has a decorative function *
The most common types:CUBE: the most used of all and exists in different sizes. It is the one that dilutes the fastest
MINCED ICE: ideal for tropical cocktails that need to be diluted to lower the alcohol content and last longer
DRY ICE: composed of CO2, it does not cool but creates a smoke effect.
SPHERES: made with ice sculptures and cool more (Japanese origins)
PARALLELEPIPEDS: a fairly recent trend, also used as a decorative function
BLOCKS: hand sculpted and cut or customized with branded stamps
