BRISIGHELLA
Brisighella is an Italian town of 7 180 inhabitants in the province of Ravenna in Emilia-Romagna, located 115 meters above sea level. in the lower Valle del Lamone, on the slopes of the Tuscan-Romagna Apennines.
The village is characterized by three rocky pinnacles (the "Tre Colli"), on which rest the Manfredian fortress (XIV century), the sanctuary of Monticino (XVIII century) and the tower called dell'Orologio, rebuilt in the nineteenth century on the ruins of a pre-existing 12th century defensive settlement.
It is difficult to trace the meaning of the name Brisighella, the most accredited hypothesis proposes the derivation from another dialectal voice, brìsul (crumb), with the meaning of "small portion of cultivated land".
The coat of arms of the Municipality of Brisighella was recognized by a decree of the head of the government of 25 July 1937 and modified by a decree of the President of the Republic of 28 December 1965.
