Aldo Drudi
Friend, confidant, Pygmalion, designer, creator of the helmets worn by one of motorcycling's heavyweights: Valentino Rossi, the man who has whizzed around the world's tracks in his incomparable career.
Aldo Drudi and Valentino Rossi's head are one and the same; the famous designer has decorated it, and protected it, with some history-making graphics. It was Rossi's liveries that made this designer from Romagna famous.
The first helmet manufactured was yellow and black with the sun and moon. Graphics with a story.
The girlfriend of a friend of Drudi's, Jumbo, had her profile tattooed: later Valentino saw it, and liked it so much that he wanted a similar moon graphic.
Then Drudi added the sun in a similar style: with the intention of representing the contrast between day, the time when Valentino is irrepressible, and night, a more reflective dimension for him.
The greatest lesson Valentino gave Drudi?
Here are his words:
"Awareness. He always took responsibility: he didn't dump things on others without first doing some self-criticism.
He knew that his decisions would lead to important results for many people and he adjusted in this way'.
