6 July World Kiss Day
This year, as it has always been, we celebrate World Kissing Day, which has been celebrated since 6 July for thirty-two years now, since 1990 to be precise.
World Kissing Day is a reminder of how important a kiss can be: an earthly yet sacred gesture, one of the most universal in human behaviour, it has a special and incredibly significant importance, as it helps reaffirm and emphasise that love is the driving force of the world, a fundamental feeling and right in everyone's life.
Its benefits are manifold, for instance it helps to keep the couple alive, it makes friendship stronger, but sometimes we forget this because of work and social networking mania.
As mentioned earlier, International Kissing Day is celebrated on 6 July, but it was not always so, as the previous date was 13 April, when a Thai couple, during a competition, kissed for 46 hours 24 minutes and 9 seconds, setting a record.
However, on 6 July 1990, the same couple broke that record by kissing for 58 hours. This is why the date was therefore replaced.
